I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

It has been a while since I have posted. If you want to know what I have been doing, you could check out my booklist to the right of the screen. You will see that I have been reading. I have been reading Harry Potter and quite enjoying it. I have read five books over the last weekish. I expect I will be finished the series within the next week.

Exams finished well enough. It has been nice spending time at home with no school or textbooks. I really enjoy reading and don't get to do it much during the school year. I got a bunch of new books in the last month. I am trying to get a bunch of reading over the holidays. And hopefully I will be able to continue reading into the semester a bit, before things really pick up school-wise.

Deathly Hallows.

Last night I finished watching that Harry Potter series.
The ending left me a bit unsatisfied, I am hoping the books will do a better job of tying up loose ends. But it was still a good story. The movie was sad.

Only two weeks of classes left! Then one week of exams, and then home for Christmas!
The Harry Potter books are waiting for me at my house to entertain me over the break. I am also planning to read The Hunger Games trilogy over Christmas or shortly after. I am not sure how long it will take me to get through Harry Potter, I might not get to The Hunger Games until next semester.

Sing.

I feel so free!
I finally wrote my archaeology exam.
Then I came home and did my whole basketball write up and practice plan.
And now I get to take the evening off.
I don't even know what to do with myself. I am definitely going to watch the next Harry Potter movie (Order of the Phoenix if you are wondering which one I'm on- did I mention I bought the books and have my holiday reading all planned out?). Maybe I will go to bed early, maybe I will play my guitar. I have options and it is wonderful. I am so happy that that exam is over. I have been in study mode for the last week and I am so happy for the break.

Guess it always comes down to.

And I am nothing of a builder
but here I dreamt I was an architect.

You know that feeling. Where the days are flying by so quickly. But when you stop and think about specific events. They feel like they happened months ago. Even though it was only a few days ago.

School is busy. I am glad that I put extra work in on my slowish last two weeks. The fact that I am done my history paper (minus a few revisions and small changes) and have had it proof-read by my professor a full week before it is due will take so much stress off of me next week. I have my second archaeology midterm next week/weekend. I am scared for it. I now understand why some students withdraw from classes half way through a semester, even when they are not failing. I am sitting a good grade, I have already completed half of the marks for the course, but I can think of nothing that would make me happier than to never go that class again. Of course I am not going to withdraw, that would mess up my whole graduate next semester plans, but I understand why some people do.

This semester feels like it is wrapping up quickly. I have a list of all the things I have to hand in and all the tests I have to write before the end of the semester on the white board in my kitchen. I can't wait to cross them all off.

My thoughts on Harry Potter 4: I didn't want Cedric Diggory to die. He died so quickly that I wasn't sure he was actually dead, you know. Often, when someone dies super fast, there is a good chance they aren't actually dead (major exception = The Departed). I also feel one would know significantly more of what was going on if they had read the book.

I think my holiday reading this year will be Harry Potter. I just need to show the self control to not start reading until my exams are done. Maybe I could read the first one after my next week school rush. I have heard the first two are super quick reads.

That's me in the corner.

I recently decided that I was going to watch all of the Harry Potter movies.
I have very limited Harry Potter experience. I saw the first two movies at some point in my childhood, but have never read any of the books and have no idea what the general plot of the story even is. I figured that I would start at the beginning since I couldn't really remember anything about the first ones, except that in the first one Snape is not the bad guy, even though it seems like he is, it is actually the stammering Professor of the dark arts who has the bad guy living on the back of his head, and then there is a snake in the second one. So I watched those two, then last week I watched the third one, The Prisoner of Azkaban (another thing is that I have heard a lot of the titles, but every time I go to watch one I have to google it to see what the name of the next one is). I was nicely surprised. It was much better than the first two I thought.
I have decided that I may even read the books. A friend told me that they also get much better as you get further into the series.

Tonight was supposed to be movie number four night. I had even googled it and knew that The Goblet of Fire was next. But then I remembered that I have to meet to work on my group ergonomics project tomorrow and I said that I would bring some research. Unfortunately I didn't think of that earlier in the day, so now instead of movie watching I am searching University peer-reviewed databases for articles on the occupational hazards of hairdressing. It is a bit of a downer. School is always getting in the way of what I want to do. But guess what, in 6 months I will have a Bachelors Degree! And I will have at least a full year off from any sort of school. I wish that made it easier to hate school less now, but it really doesn't.
