I need an ending, so why can't you stay just long enough to explain.

I have never heard the original song. But I love this.
It is so pretty.

Tomorrow is my climbing presentation on Mountaineering, Alpine, Winter, and Expedition Climbing. I am excited for it to be done. But I still have to finish my paper on it, which is due next week. So many papers, so many papers.

Comes with the tragic.

You know when you are totally fine one minute, and within an hour or two, you have gone from perfectly healthy to completely incapacitated? Well that was my yesterday.
I am very surprised that I made it out of bed this morning. It is a good thing I did however, because I had a paper to hand in at 9 am. I also had skill testing in basketball class. Raising my heart rate was not a good thing.
Tomorrow I have strength testing in rock climbing. Just perfect timing, why not do all my physical testing when I can hardly stand up?

On the upside, I got an email from the University just a little while ago. It went something like this:

Dear Student,
Congratulations! It is my pleasure to inform you that you have recently been selected to receive the following scholarship: the Students' Union Quality Initiatives Scholarship, which carries a value of $1000.00.

It was a nice end to the day. Now I just have to wait for the nighttime drugs to kick in and maybe I will get some sleep tonight.

This could really be a good life.

Today I had an interesting experience.
I was sitting in History class and when I looked at the clock to see how much longer the class was, usually I start looking at the clock within 20 minutes of the start of class, and after that, time drags terribly slowly for the rest of the class. Anyways, when I looked at the clock, the class was over. Completely over. That has never happened before. Sometimes I try to hold out on looking at the clock and make it until maybe ten minutes before the class ends, but time still goes by slowly because I am purposely not looking at the time. Turns out the Persian wars are interesting enough to engage me for a full 50 minutes.

We learned about the Battle of Marathon.
Here is a cool little animation of the battle.
Phase 1. The Persians push back the Greek center rank. But the Greek flanks push through and force the Persian flanks to retreat

Phase 2. The Greek flanks reform and the Greeks now attack the Persians from both sides. The Persians give up and run like heck for their boats while the Greeks follow killing as many as possible.

Now I have to kill another half an hour in the library. Then it is group project time.
Then it is the weekend. :)
I am looking forward to a weekend where I don't have to drive anywhere out of town.
I plan to sleep. And do some homework. And when I am not doing those things I might just do nothing.
And maybe today I will got to Chapters because they are having a sale and I like books.

I am starting to see significant improvements in my strength and in my bouldering skills. This is encouraging.

yuck.

The air in Lethbridge smells so much like cow today, it is ridiculous.
The vent in the bouldering cave inside the University was on, and I could smell the cow coming in from outside. gross.

Also, I bouldered so hard I ripped my hand open. It was bleeding and everything.

When all you've got to keep is strong.

I finished another book!
Hocus Pocus by Kurt Vonnegut.
I like his books. I have a few more lined up to read at some point.
However, I should really start spending my reading time reading textbooks.
It is 3 weeks in and I have only cracked one of my textbooks. And that was because I had to write a paper on the reading.
My humanities heavy semester means that I have 3 classes with big reading components.
Also papers. I would like to try to finish my papers early, but I don't know if that will happen. It doesn't seem remarkably likely.

This morning I fell asleep in the library trying to read a paper for Ergonomics.

I have climbed 5 days a week for the last 2 weeks. I just went climbing again today. My arms are toast. I pretty much exist in a constant state of sore muscles. I really am looking forward to a weekend of rest for my poor forearms.
