I went to the East coast like a week and a half ago. And I meant to post about it so much sooner. Fiona and Sarah invited me to go along with them on their holidays and it was amazing. I had a great time. They stopped to let me take pictures of ridiculous things. They also offered to take pictures of me petting all of the wildlife. It was great. Mostly this is just going to be a pictures post. But I would like to mention some of the highlights of the trip. The biggest one is simply that people who didn't know me at all wanted to bring me along on their family holiday and hang out with me. I enjoyed their company very much and am looking forward to going back to the East coast with them again. Seriously, the people here are so ridiculously kind and hospitable.
The highlights:
- petting an echidna on the side of the highway
- finding a town named Cranbrook
- the wallabies at our campsite that let me pet them
- going on hike
- seeing the penguins try to jump over rocks at Bicheno
- the kangaroos and wallabies at Natureworld wildlife park
- Bundaberg ginger beer
- surfing
- white sand beaches
- wallabies jumping around my tent during the night
- the raspberry farm

We stopped so I could see an echidna. Instead of running away, it just balled up and buried it's head. They told me I could pet it and it went well. |
There is a town named Cranbrook! |
This was a look out on the way there. Those mountains way off in the distance are the hazards and we were camping just on this side of them. |
Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm |
The farm is quite large. I figured that you would appreciate the size of it mom. |
The trail down to the beach at Friendly Beaches |
This is where we went surfing. |

More of Friendly Beaches |
This guy hung around our campsite for the evening. |
More beach. |
The blowhole at Bicheno. |
It was going a bit better later. And I'm posting another picture simply because I sat there for a while with my camera waiting to get a better shot of the water. |
The penguins. I tried so hard to get a picture without using a flash. But they were all blurry. So I gave in. They seemed to be alright with it. |
Wineglass Bay! |
The rocks at Sleepy Bay are quite cool to climb on. |
Instead of sand, here there are just really small pebbles. |
The lighthouse in Freycinet. |
Kookaburras in Cole's Bay. |
I made a goal to pet everything I could in Natureworld. That included the geese. They tried to run away, but I got them. I did not, however, manage to catch the peacock. |
More wallabies. And there was a pademelon too. But you couldn't get very close to it. |
This one is a kangaroo. All the ones after this are kangaroos too. They weren't in any sort of enclosure, they just kind of roamed around the park and you could chase them down. They were all pretty happy to be fed and would sometimes chase you down if they thought you had food. |
There were a few with babies. |
A copperhead I think. I can't remember for sure. Something deadly. |
This is by far the biggest kangaroo I have seen so far. His claws were huge. |
We were friends. At least until he realized I was out of food. |
Great photos raiah!
