I have a game for you.
Next time you are in a second hand store, count how many VHS copies of Jerry Maguire there are. I guarantee that you will find at least one, sometimes there will be crazy amounts, like 8 or 10.
I had never really put it all together until I was at a thrift store the other day.. I was perusing the movies and I realized that I don't think I have ever been in a second hand store and not seen at least one copy of the movie. Now, I have never specifically looked for it, just noticed it in passing. From now on though, my goal will be to find a store without a single copy of the tape.
Let me know if you ever do.
Hahaha, I just googled Jerry Maguire and found this.
"It's a joke amongst found footage aficionados that the 1996 Cameron Crowe film dominates the video shelves of second-hand shops, and EIT wants all of them -- every single copy."
Apparently I was right on the ball. And, you can send in VHS copies you find at second hand stores to add to their collection. Makes the game even funner, right?
Maybe another thing I should do is actually watch the movie? Or maybe I should take the hint that the hundreds of people who are donating their copies of the movie to thrift stores are giving.
It is a terrible movie.
ReplyDeleteYou should also look for Cliffhanger, with Sly Stallone. Always there.
