I just printed off my last paper for the semester. It is for my fourth year class.
It is a research proposal. It has been quite the ordeal. I had to write it about a month ago, then we handed it in and it was distributed for a peer review. We all had to review two papers, but it was double-blinded, so I had no idea whose papers I was reading, and I also have no idea who ended up reading mine. Then we got the reviews back and had a week to improve our proposals. And today it is due. In about half an hour.
And that is my last class for the semester. :)
It snowed like crazy here the night before last. I was so pumped that it was warm out, and I only had two more days of walking to school. Then, the weather had to make my last walks to school miserable.
Well, today wasn't too bad, but yesterday sucked.
There was a foot of new snow, but it was super warm out. The snow was so wet. And, being in Lethbridge, there is zero snow removal of any kind. Only a couple kind homeowners who actually shovel their sidewalks. My boots, they are winter boots, made for walking in snow, were soaked through after about 3 blocks. It was like I had walked through the ocean. And, let me tell you, wet feet all day equals a less than stellar day.
Yesterday was my last day of fencing. I had the best teacher ever. His name is George. He is 84 years old. He was in a Soviet work camp during world war II. He was my favourite and I will miss him a lot. He had a soft spot for the girls in my class, mostly becuase we actually showed up every class, had the most enthusiasm, and could beat most of the boys in the class. When I handed in my test yesterday, he gave me a hug. He gave us a big thank you and goodbye speech, it was kind of sad.
He wrote a book about his time in the work camp and I would really like to read it. Also, I heard that the University is giving him an honoural doctorate degree. How cool is that.
